Dining Out with the Girls: Like a Sex in the City Episode

Published by lannaxe96 at 8:39 am under Recipes Edit This

It always struck me as funny, as I religiously watched the episodes of the girls eating out, every morning, before their jog in Central Park.

Was it always about Sex? Isn’t is interesting how certain types of foods have a way of provoking conversation. A simple flourless chocolate torte can bring up that passionate night, when you locked eyes with the man you planned to marry.

A salad can evoke images of you, running on the beach, with those long braids that Bo Derrick had in “Ten” . Possibly, you may imagine yourself thinner and finally fitting into that itsy, bitsy bikini you haven’t worn since you were 21.

I find it amusing that anytime the girls of Sex in the City dined out, their conversations always started over a raw meal or an omelet with loads of hash browns. What is it about food that brings up memories and images?

This whole ideal stems from my recent studies in hormonal activity.  What is it about the food that makes us so crazy? Is food really erotic foreplay?

“Chocolate contains phenylalanine , an amino acid that raises the body’s endorphins”.  A few little bites of chocolate, preferably Dark Cocoa, can lift libido providing a tantalizing high before sex. Is it the same for fruit, vegetables, and shellfish? Find out here

How funny! I’ve just been blogging about using the senses in writing–that they stir old memories… and taste was the latest one.

I think a stray meal here and there can be tremendously meaningful. My kids know it’s a special morning when they smell coffee cake in the oven (and the cinnamon is hard to miss!), and I’m beginning to think my husband and my relationship has the flavor of margaritas mixed in (at least, since we had kids–who knew I’d drink more AFTER my kids were born?).

Nice reminder, from the food side to the writing side.
