Every so often you will meet a certain someone in a restaurant, especially when you’re younger. They are years younger than you but, the excitement just mounts and you just can’t control yourself.

On a busy Friday night, a server and chef had an encounter that still lingers in their minds even after it happened over 10 years ago. They are still searching for each other after years of failed relationships and longing to have that one special moment that defined what love really was.

Their eyes met over a bowl of chilled pea salad and some warm cloverleaf rolls at the MCL. From that moment on, they knew what love was yet, it was forbidden because of the age difference and their parents. They dated briefly before he moved out of the state to start a new life, without his pea salad love.

So for years, they both struggled to find each other after they had relocated again to different states. Years of people searches and phone lookups ended with frustrated attitudes.

So to this day, they still wait and watch for a sign that they will be able to share a plate of harvard beets, roast beef, and a side dish of chilled pea salad.
