Italian Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 1 lb whole button mushrooms
- 1 cup celery
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup chopped scallions
- 1 tsp garlic chopped
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup progresso Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Romano
- 1/4 cup grated asiago
- 1/2 cup milk
Method
- Remove stems from mushrooms and reserve caps
- In a saute pan, cook beef, onions, celery, garlic and salt until beef is thoroughly cooked and vegetables are tender.
- Drain the fat.
- Add breadcrumbs, milk, and cheese’s.
- Spoon mixture into every cap and then place mushrooms on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
- Serve immediately.
Note: The beef may also be replaced with lobster, crab, or even tofu for a twist.
